We are enjoying the breezes of Ashland.
After moving here this weekend, we’ve been exploring.

People, places, and things. It is quiet, lovely, and we are here.

Summer is here, and the last day of school was today.
The product of our learning. Paintings and memories.

Dancers, runners. Cassidy and Spencer make fun. BFF with a twist.

Looking forward. Valentina and Rogue proceed on the court.

The amazing Miss Anita (kindergarten teacher, housemate, and friend)

The thoughful Farmer Cale (kindergarten assistant, friend, and neighbor)

The kids at Rogue and Spencer’s class journeyed to the farm (out in Petaluma) to visit the animals.
First step in the adventure. What kind of creatures live in the pond?

We like, frogs. This one visited us for a few moments as the first visitor of the day. And then, jumped back in.

All together now. Wool into yarn.

The team also made butter, fed the goats and cows, and visited the garden.
And, we napped in the car on the way home.
We just arrived back to Berkeley from Spring Break adventure to visit the family in Oregon.
On our walk down to the store and local burrito shop, we noticed a sign of the times.
The mega newspaper stand had been removed from the corner of Vine and Shattuck in Berkeley.

Print is dead, for real…bet these kids will joke about “print news” by the time they are in college. Hopefully Wordpress is still working then.
Makes us one step closer to being free, media free. Now our walks down the block can be just a bit more peaceful.
Sayonara, headlines.
Up around the corner (and up the hill) is the Hillside School. The kids like to go and adventure around the campus.
Trees to climb.

And sidewalks to dance upon.

Sometimes community comes to us, sometimes we come to it.
Everything is sprouting up this summer, and climbing to the sky.
The kids planted some sunflowers this year, one of them reached extra high.

And Rogue, himself, went out on a limb.

Higher than expected.

A nice climber, and certainly worth it for the sweet berries.
Summer. For trees, indeed.
Was invited the chance to spend time at a almost-local hospital. Blending in, stepping up.

This year on | near the Summer Solstice, the sun was bright in the attic.
Must have been mommie’s night to put the kids down, and I was doing my first after dinner work check-in when an intense red light caused me to look up (not easy to do).
It kinda looked like this (from 3GS)

Grabbed a shot showing mark the Northern boundary of where it is relative to the attic. On the bottom left of this pic, you can see the Marin side of the Golden Gate, the fog creeping into the headlands.

Totally makes sense that Solstice is also the time of the year for ripe plums. Red, everywhere.
Got a chance to hang out @ the Rose Garden courts for a few moments, this mothers day.
A little playing with grandpa

And a little 1 on 1.

And a little sun to bloom

Our day. Ripe for the taking.
The team hosted a puppet show rendition of the story “The Sun Egg” for some of the young peeps in our neighborhood. It was a warm event, even in the rain.
The puppet show was followed by some silk dying, wand making, and a visit from the Faerie Queen herself.
